I am a customer-centric, technically advanced solutions architect and full stack web developer with a strong understanding of software products and a love for communication and human connection. I enjoy nothing more than solving complex problems, learning and growing, making connections between people and technologies, and helping others succeed.
I have almost 20 years of professional experience to date (see below). Before moving into tech, I previously worked as a professor and scholar of film and digital media studies, a higher ed communications strategist and institutional reformer in the area of diversity, inclusion, and equity, and a writer, editor and translator. I am, in addition, an officially certified Tea Master, and I own a small tea import and sales business called Three Mouths Tea which supports the autonomy of tiny scale tea farmers in Asia through education, direct trade, and creative partnerships.
I am driven and energized by a set of core values: integrity, agility, allyship and advocacy, empathy, generosity, collective responsibility, and respect for others, their needs, their independence, and their capabilities. Technology helps me realize and activate these values. I believe that software can dismantle all sorts of barriers, including those that restrict the access that we can gain to knowledge, to resources, and to our fellow humans.
I excel at uniting business, personal, and technical needs, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and communicating across boundaries to develop well-architected solutions to real world problems.
